At the corner of Cotton Bay Road and Maxton Road trail 493 enters Maxton Plains. You will find three plaques describing the areas geological history and wildlife. As the trail is nice and wide with long flowing curves as it heads east, shown top. Headed south, shown bottom right, the trail will lead you over the Petagannissing River and into Maxton and connecting trails.
