REPORT: The 31st Annual Fishing Tourney was another great weekend on the lake. Top walleye was 28.5” and weighed in at 7# 6oz, the tenth place fish was 22” 3# 1.8oz so that’s a tight group of fish. Northern were 30”, 29 %BD” & 29 %BD”, Bass 21”, 20”, &18 %BD” Perch 12 %BD”, 13 %BD” & 13 %BD , so you can see a lot of quality fish were caught. Entries totaled 249 contestants. The last fish pole contest also is over, winning fish were, Walleye 26 %BD”, Northern 28 %BD”, Bass 21” & the perch was a beauty at 15”. Congratulations to all the winners and a special thanks to those who stayed with us we truly appreciate it. The lake remains low and is slowly cooling down as the fish head into the fall pattern and go more and more to minnows. Fishing the flats with crawlers was still good last week and a lot of 14” fish were on the bite, along with the keepers. Weed bed fishing has required a lot of moving around, producing some good catches. We only stay 15 minutes in one spot, no fish move on. We added NFL Sunday Ticket Super Fan to our TV menu so we will have every Sunday game available for our guests. Fall fishing should be very good this season but remember the UP weather when making your plans. Fall color is starting and some areas are at 20% it’s a beautiful time to see the UP.
