Reports of decent Walleye catches in and around the DNR Launch Ramp just west of town and and in the river NE of town, some nice ones being caught in Caribou Lake as well. Perch, Pike and still a couple Herring being caught by patient fishermen.
Salmon fishing is picking up as the fish are starting to move into the mouth of the river. The 2008, 22nd Annual, DeTour Area Chamber Salmonfest Derby is Aug 9th to 16th, King Salmon compete for $1500 1st place, $700 2nd place, $400 3rd place, with a $200 Cash bonus to the Top Woman Angler. $25 entry fee.
