once again, just when things start to get good we get forty degrees. at least this time there was no rain. meltdown pretty severe in open areas and roadbeds but still good snow in the woods. avoid the trails in open areas (near farm fields, unshaded grades) and hit the two tracks. area lakes have 5 to 12" of ice and are flat and fast. Black Lake is prepping for the sturgeon opener on Saturday so be on alert for shanties and big brother. its been almost a constant 32 degrees today (Wed.) with forecasts calling for 25 to 35 temps and possibly major snow for the weekend......
