Seney Snowmobile Trail Volunteer Maintenance Day 2004   By DMG           Pg. 2

The money from your trail permit is used for grooming trails and to help with the cost of equipment. Grants are applied for when special projects are needed like a new bridge or parking area for example. Clubs also raise money through memberships, donations and fund raising. There is a lot for local clubs to deal with to keep the trails open for us. Here in Seney they have used some of their funds to clear part of trail 43 south of Fox River Road. No stumps, big bumps or rocks to break your sled or the groomer. The Seney club also has recently open a new staging area north of town, added two new trails and a new bridge over the Fox River. They do go above and beyond. We headed back after reaching trail 8 and noticed a beaver dam off trail 43 that may also need to be dealt with as it has water levels high along the old railroad grade. It was getting late afternoon now so back to town for food sounded good to all. With help we would finish up the following day.
