The area around Horse Point and Young State park has a very steep drop
from 1 foot down to 70 feet of water.
Walleye,
brown trout,
and rainbow
related to these steep banks year-round.
Smallmouth tend to stay around the shallower water and can be
caught shore fishing. The flats south of the point is a good place
for winter perch and smelt through the ice and walleye in the summer.
The state park has a 1 lane cement ramp
with no loading dock, shown top left.
