The north end of Black Lake offers the largest area of
shallow flats and heavy weed beds. Concentrate
on the break lines from 10 to 15 feet. Crankbaits
and spinners work well running over the tops of the weeds
when after large pike. A
stick sinker
rig works good with leeches when drifting slowly through the weeds for walleye.
Try a crawler harness
moving electric around 1mph during the evening hours.
The area also holds plenty of panfish and perch. I
find the best way to still fish the weeds is by using
a slip bobber
set up with a leech or wiggler on the hook.
