Agate Falls are located on the Middle Branch of the Ontonagon River in
Ontonagon County. Right on M-28, at Joseph. F. Oravec Roadside Park four miles west of Trout Creek.
you can park and walk at short trail to overlook the falls.
The river is about 80 feet wide as it cascades 80 feet over a series of shelves.
The board walkway has a viewing platform were the photo to the right was taken.
I had to climb around a fence and down a steep cliff to get the photo above.
In the winter the #8 snowmobile trail runs over the falls on a tressel bridge
high over the gorge. I took some shots from there on a trip I took in March 2001.
