Rec. Area #22
Little Bull Dam

Iron County, Michigan
N46° 01.325'

This area has 3 rustic camp sites overlooking the Little Bull Dam on the Paint River. The spillway runs to the west, far side of the dam, through the Horse Race Rapids and on into the Brule River 10 miles to the south. On the east side there is a diversion channel that runs about 1 mile into the Peavy Reservoir. With the gate up, as shown in the photos here, you can fish the lake or head north up the Paint River. It's seven miles up to Crystal Falls where you can throw in a canoe or kayak and paddle along some great scenic shores. There are vault toilets but you must bring your own water.
