Perch fishing has been red hot on Drummond Island as well as up river at the Sault. On Drummond crappie rigs tipped with minnows are your best bet the perch are moving from Scotts bay towards Yacht Haven. I caught my limit each of five trips to the island in the last two weeks. Yesterday the perch were smaller and had to do a lot of sorting off the dock at the Drummond Island Resort, kept 15 that were over ten inches and the rest were 8-9 inchers. Check with Rick at Johnson's Bait Shop for the latest update on where the perch are being caught. The Walleye opener is just 9 days away and I will be on Brevoort Lake most often we get cold rainy weather and or east winds and the opener can be a hard bite. I'm hoping for some warm weather and westerly winds so that the Eyes will be easy to catch. Will report here on my results. Some great Perch fishing can be had on the up river side of the Sault Locks, use the landing that is just upriver from the International Bridge and fish just off of the launch. Minnows are the bait and fish are biting best very early in the morning. Dan Fenlon, Brevoort Lake Charter Co. dayooper57@hotmail.com
