Hello fishheads, welcome back Mr. frigid. the ice is growing stronger by the day. You could probably take a tank out fishing soon. Havn't seen any trucks out yet but I'm sure they could by now. The fishing has been fair also. Walleyes have been reported off the North Bayou, and also at the south end of Lower Hamlin. My guests at the resort are catching a mixed bag of bluegills, specs and pike. Plenty for nightly fishfrys according to the cleaning ladies. Come on up the weather should be great for ice as far as they are predicting.

The National ice fishing circuit comes to Hamlin lake this weekend. The first prize of 7,500 will certainly draw lots of anglers. This is a simple event, you fish for five hours with your favorite fishing partner, bring back your eight heaviest bluegills and crappies. You only have to beat the other teams. They have lots of room for more teams as of now so come join the fun and possible win some cash. The event kicks off Jan 28 above sportsman's Irish pub. business after hours will be joining the fishermen for a big party, don't miss it.. The next day there is a free ice fishing seminar and then on Sat. there will be a USA Team qualifier, which could qualify a team for the world championship tournament. Last years event was in Poland. Then there is a rules meeting at Ramada Sat night. Sunday the tournament starts at 8.am. Fishing ends at 1.00 with a weigh in and chili cookoff in the James street plaza downtown Ludington. We have one room left at the resort and 2 snowmobiles left. Looks like a very busy weekend. We are still having our free lodging special. If you rent a snowmobile for a day you get a free night, of a two night stay. If you rent a snowmobile for 2 days you get 2 nights free, on and on.
