Parsley,     (Petroselinium crispum)

The Parsley that we have planted was introduced around 1806. With larger leaves than standard strains, this parsley grows up to 2 ft. tall, has a concentrated flavor and dark-green, glossy leaves.

Propagation:
Start indoors up to 8-10 weeks before last frost. Soak seeds in warm water overnight for faster gemination. Transplant into rows 8 to 12 inches apart. May be sown directly into garden in spring. During germination keep entire seed bed evenly moist.
Soil & Water: Enrich soil with mature compost. Water established plants moderately allowing soil surface to dry between watering. Mulch to conserve moisture.
Harvesting: Harvest outer leaves as needed by cutting or gently twisting the stem away from the base of the plant. Can be used fresh, dried or frozen.
