ALL-FOUR MICHIGAN FALL COLOR RIDE 2009!   pg. 5

Cheboygan County Michigan ATV ORV    The sun held out until about 2:30 that afternoon. We had just reached our turn north at Webb and Munger Roads when black rolled over the hills from the west. The wind picked up as the rain started in mixed with a bit of snow. By the time we reached Afton Road the rain had stopped leaving a rainbow overhead for a few moments. The temperature quickly dropped as we pulled onto Berry Creek Road and the ORV route headed north. I let everyone head up and followed behind making sure I was the last. Riding the last 5 miles I thought so far, so good.

Now back to Cooperation Park the wind and snow started to intensify so no one really stuck around the dealer displays. I felt bad about that but we learned something for next time. I want to thank all the area dealers that got involved and brought down the new machines to check out. I made a quick run home to shower and get back before diner started at seven. At 6:30 pm, when I arrived at the Brown Trout, diner had already started. The cold weather and early completion of the days ride had everyone ready to eat early, so I jumped right in also.    After all had finished and the food removed from the front table the girls placed the door prizes donated by many Northern Michigan Businesses. From helmets, jackets, gift certificates, a GPS, hats and tee's there was a little something for everyone. Katie and Breanna handled the drawing.

First off let me thank all of our guests. You are a great group and I was proud to ride with all of you. Not a single break down or stuck machine that day. Everyone rode with respect for others and the county side we traveled through. I know it could have been a bit warmer but I will trade warm weather for no dust anytime.
I'm thinking we should do this again next year? Expand it a bit into a two day thing and a few events to enter. I know we made a few mistakes but I promise you we will listen to your comments for the next ride. Like maybe more mud and water and a slower touring group. A Geo cash ride is also something we are thinking about. A Halloween Parade down main with prizes for the best costume or dressed up ATV. I hope to see you all next time so till then, have fun, ride safe! DMG
