CONDITION:   GROOMING IS BACK, SO THE TRAILS ARE SWEET ONCE AGAIN
Hi All, Yes the ORV ordinance did pass and yes you can ride right from our Resort now, so this will be a great thing for this area, as long as the riders obey the rules.

Our ATV rentals season is done for the season on Oct 31st 2009, but our snowmobile rental season begins Dec 1st 2009 weather permitting. Our rentals sleds are ready to go and just waiting for snow.

The ORV trails are graded, (groomed) once again and will be kept smooth for the rest of the season as per the IATA grooming coordinator. There has been hardly any traffic on the trails because the weather has been so crappy, but this weekend is looking good. (if you can believe any forecast). So this will be a great weekend to come up and enjoy the North country, with light to no traffic on the trails. We do have rooms available for the week and weekend. Great news for everyone, all the calls to the DNR did work and they are allowing us to go back out and continue grooming (Grading) the ORV trails.

We do have a few rooms available for this week and weekend. There is a You Tube video on our Photo page of our all our rooms.

There is a 3 mile trail closure to do some bridge and trail repair. The closure is now in effect and the heavy equipment is working on the bridges. This closure only effects 3 miles of trails on the west side of the Little Manistee trail, so it will not be a big deal and is necessary to make the bridges safe for the groomer operators. Just check our web site for the day by day info on the trail repairs. If you get a chance call the Cadillac DNR office at 231-775-9727 and tell them you would like to see the weekly grooming come back. I believe the grooming is paid for by the ORV trail permit money and I believe that the trail permit sales are up, so I don’t see why they would groom less. All the operators are volunteers, so it’s just fuel and maintenance on the groomers that they have to pay for. (I wonder where that money is going?) Check out our web site to get the day by day conditions.

Check out the video that Dave from Fishweb did on one of our trails, very cool and that is just one of the trails, here is a link to it Little Manistee trail video by Fishweb

The Lake County ORV Ordinance did pass and went into effect on May 21st-09, to allow ORV traffic on the far right of the county roads that were chosen to be open, single file 25mph unless posted slower. Now it is up to the riders to know what roads are open and what roads are closed, because not all roads are open. NO TWO TRACKS, NO STATE AND NO FEDERAL RAODS WILL BE OPEN. We will have the maps available as soon as they come back from the printers .

There is a link on our web site for the ordinance and map of the roads that are open.

We have great trails for the ATV’s to ride and they are the Little O Trail (46 miles), Tin Cup Springs Trail (21 miles of 50” trails and 21 miles of 72” trails) are a hoot to ride. The Little Manistee Trail (46 miles of 50” trails and 46 miles of 72” trails) and the Lincoln Hills Trail (21 miles of 50” trails and 21 miles of 72” trails). In all, there is 222 miles of ATV, ORV trails plus the single tracks for the Dirt Bikes, which I believe is around 88 miles. That’s 310 miles of dirty fun.

WE HAVE ON SITE ATV and Snowmobile rentals this year. Plus we offer Gift certificates for Rooms, ATV or Snowmobile Rentals, here at the Resort, which are a great Gift for that hard to buy for person.
