There is a very steep drop into deep water and is prime trout trolling
water a half mile or so north and south of 5 Mile Point. Find lake trout
in the deeper 60-80 foot range with the browns running shallower
at 25-40 foot.
In summer the smallmouth relate to the steep bank and can be caught
jigging down the banks. Walleye will also hold along the banks
in the summer months and trolling cranks from 15 to 30 foot down
is the way to go.
