Our last stop before Indian River White Road is also one of the starting points for a short 1 and half hour trip. It's a good place for beginners to start from until they get the hang of it. There is a fine stairway and loading platform on the south-east end of the bridge for easy loading.    We hung out a bit, stretched our legs, and generally prolonged our eventual return to reality. In four hours on the river we never ran across a single person, that has got to be unusual for a Sunday afternoon. But I'm not complaining at all.

As we slid under the old suspension bridge just past Fisherwoods Road, I knew the end of our trip was just a short 1/2 hour away. I was very pleased with the day, the river conditions and especially the performance of the canoe. We bounced off a log jam early in the trip that had a strong under tow and recovered with little problem. I think if we had been in one of the aluminum canoes I used before she would have rolled in to fast to recover. The seats were very comfortable and they were quiet. I definitely will be using one next time around.

We pulled in about 3:30 that afternoon feeling good and a bit worn out. This is why it's nice to have your car parked where you finish up for your quick escape back home. And after thanking the crew at Tomahawk Trails that's exactly what we did.
It did not take long before I was sleeping like a dog and dreaming about our next river trip.
Until next time, love nature, and respect yourself.     Castmaster
