As this is the last groomer post of the year, I would like to look back over our
season. As all grant sponsors/clubs we have had extreme highs and lows this year.
Between breakdowns, no snow for most of the month of January, a trail stop that will
go down in history and then lots of snow for the rest of the season.
I would like to thank all of the people who have made it a huge success! The list of
names is longer than you might think, between all the people who we never talk about
behind the scenes, people who volunteer their mechanical skills, bookkeeping skills,
paperwork skills, grooming skills, idea skills, I know a guy skills, and that guy,
sponsors, venders, trail brushers, wood cutters, trail putteriners, trail pullouters,
signers, post pounders,… the list goes on and on. We really do have the best club in
Even though we have made great efforts, there are people out there that think that
the trails just pop out of the ground every year. Just for clarification they don’t!
We have a small but dedicated group here at Driftskippers that maintain contact with
the landowners, clear and brush, install, maintain during the season and in the
spring remove the trail. They do this so not only themselves but all of you who are
reading this can have a safe and enjoyable trail system to ride! If you see them out
taking care of trail business, give them a wave and a shout out they all deserve our
That being said I would like to thank all the people who have come to ride our
trails. We hope you enjoyed it and will come back and see us again! Thank you for
supporting our vendors on the system. I personally received more support when I was
in the groomer this year than I ever have, many thanks for that!
As always our club strives to modify, expand, and maintain our trails to ensure that
our sport continues to grow! Tho the snow is melting our season isn’t over yet. We
still have to remove the trail and there is always maintenance to do. We have club
bonfires, summer ride/drive in’s to plan and then we are right into next season! We
are always looking for new people who feel the same way go join our ranks, so if you
can stop by and fill out a membership form at our website or Facebook page and
volunteer some time!
And now for the dreaded four words….
