December 27, 2025 Big Changes Coming
Starting Sunday we have moderate rain moving in which will eliminate any base left in the lower but not the U.P. Sunday night temps drop fast with the rain turning to heavy snow with high winds. Expect blizzard conditions for Monday with 1 to 2 feet of snow in the U.P. and tip of the mitt with lighter amounts to the south. Behind the storm we expect lake effect snow in the lake Superior and Lake Michigan snow belts. The temps stay below freezing all week allowing the base to grow.
The Superior snowbelts in the U.P. would be your best conditions this week with decent conditions throughout. In the lower most of the base is gone but the western side and tip of the mitt should be far mid week with the cold air moving in. We will have to wait till Monday to see how things shape up going into the new year.
