Maple Bay located in the northwest end of Burt Lake is mainly out of the wind makeing this an ideal bay for water sports area. There is a large sand bar off the western point just south of Maple River were many boaters enjoy the sandy shallows on a hot summers day. The bay is also a good fishery producing walleye, perch and pike year round with good brown and rainbow trout in spring and fall. There is also a boat launch, beach and campground at the county park on the north shore.
