Foote Dam - Au Sable River - Iosco County - Oscoda MI.
River Road National Forest Scenic Byway - Michigan Interactive

With a capacity of 9,000 kilowatts, the Foote Dam hydro was completed in 1918. It is located 9 miles upstream from Lake Huron and is named for William A. Foote, the founder of Consumers Power, which later became Consumers Energy. The Foote Hydro pond offers great fishing and boating hat combines spectacular scenery with lore of the Au Sable.
There is also great access to the tail waters below the dam with a cement fishing pier along the south bank. There is also ramp access for small fishing boats, canoe or kayaks.
